Over at Stu Savory’s blog, the “auld Scot” is challenging us bloggers to follow his lead and post photos from throughout our lifetimes. So, below are sixty-four years of my face.
The top line is from the 40s and 50s, the middle from the 60s and 70s, and the bottom line from the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Next month, I’ll be sixty-five. I figure I’m overweight about a pound and a half for each 5 years I’ve been on this earth being photographed — not that this fact has any relevance to the photos below, but it will have relevance when I post my 65th birthday photo. Most of those pounds found their way to me during the past three years. Surviving caregiving requires lots of comfort foods.
OK, Stu. Heeerrre’s the Crone!
Boy, you could almost swear photo 4 in line 2 is your daughter.
Well, that dramatic photo was taken by a professional photographer (Joe Schyler) for the NYSTI playbill, and I think I weighed less than 110 pounds. So no wonder you can see a resemblance between me then and my dramatic and slim daughter. My genes are in there somewhere.
Good lord, look at that hair in Row 2, Picture 3.
Heh. It was the seventies, and part of what you see is a fake “fall.” It was the style then. I only wish I really had that much hair! Stu Savory noticed that one too; he had a girlfriend who had that hair style. Ah, such passion for fashion!
I find an incredible resemblance between the first picture of you when you were a baby and your latest photo. You haven’t changed all that much, have you? 😉
I didn’t know your blog, but I’ll be sure to be back
I love all of the photos but starting from line 2, last one on the right, all the way through the bottom row, are my favorites. You have such a subtle intensity of intelligent passion shining out from behind your eyes. (Lol, does that make any sense?)
What a treat! Thank you so much!
