The world is filled
with the sound of water,
the rustle of lives teeming
beneath a thirsty earth.
I languish among the peonies,
heavy with heat
the earth calling us all
to its measure.
Skin rises to tease the sun,
looses a brazen sigh.
with the sound of water,
the rustle of lives teeming
beneath a thirsty earth.
I languish among the peonies,
heavy with heat
the earth calling us all
to its measure.
Skin rises to tease the sun,
looses a brazen sigh.
the earth calling us all to its measure…is a very cool line, and it makes for a nice contrast to the skin rising to the sun…i can imagine the sigh, caught between those two…smiles.

info. Thanks for the post. I will definitely comeback.
the sound of water is one of the most beautiful mystic sounds of nature… and summer heightens the beauty of the same!!
Gorgeous bit of writing…
Neat read. If there’s ever gonna be a sigh, I sure like the thought of those brazen ones!
I like the simplicity of this poem and its depth, well done.
Loved the approach to this ~ Eddie
